Wuxi & Shanghai Trip!

Hi guys. Here to blog about my inaugural Wuxi flight today!
Was rostered to do the first flight to Wuxi, which was truly an honour!
They treated us like VIPS and superstars! Haha.

Here's a picture with the celebrity/press/bloggers on plane!

I even got to sign my name on this super huge board in Wuxi!
(Signing in chinese because nobody would understand my English name there.)

Me and Liyen (my roomie and travel partner for 3 days)
After the press conference, we headed down to Shanghai by train.
It is just 35 mins by train from Wuxi to Shanghai, super accessible!
The train tickets cost about $15 for round trip, very affordable.

I was pretty excited as it's my first time taking a bullet train in China.

So we've reached! Shanghai Hongqiao Hilton hotel.
Our not so humble abode for the night.

So like, we were totally in love with our hotel.
It's just so posh! I would stay here again if I'm back in SH.
I think it is equivalent to MBS rooms, so comfy~!

We were starving, so we headed down to the city area near Tian Zi Fang.
Found a steamboat place but the waitress was being such a rude ass.
Luckily the food was not bad. Hai di lao would be better but we were rushing for time.

We did order a lot for two, surprisingly we managed to finish it all. Lol

A candid picture of me, and the rude waitress. *insert roll eyes emoticon

Headed to Tian Zi Fang to chillax.
It leaves me the impression of a Shanghai Haji Lane.
If you been to Haji lane in SG, you will know what I mean.
Its like, Haji lane but all in chinese, selling China products,
but still retaining that atas feeling. Lol

Had my portrait drawn and had a hard time haggling with the price at TZF.

Next day, we headed to The Bund by cab!
Which is one of the most famous tourist attraction in SH.
Oh and, all the cabs in SH are Volkswagen.
Atas or what? Their drivers are all so friendly and nice,
which was quite a pleasant surprise. Their cabs prices are like SG,
so you would feel a pinch if you always travel by taxi.

Took a walk around the area around Yu Yuan.

I couldn't find the famous XLB shop so we headed to a local shop for their food.

Sadly wasn't as good as I expected. Probably because we went to a local food court.
Should have found a restaurant instead, with cleaner and higher standards.
Oh by the way, that straw is inserted to the big soup bun for you to drink the soup. Lol

Some beef noodles. Apparently it's quite popular in China to have this.

Do check out my Gopro video of my trip here,
and don't forget to watch in HD!

That's all for now folks! SH I will definitely be back!
xx
